Mutual Ministry Committee

The Mutual Ministry Committee was formed in 2003 to serve as a liaison between the congregation and the pastor. Mutual ministry is a call to a wider vision of the church as the interconnected Body of Christ. All the baptized are linked together as God’s people in a shared purpose and a common adventure in the service of Jesus Christ in the world.

The goals of the committee are:

  1. Mutual communication means listening and speaking, advocating and clarifying the expectations of ministry together, as well as addressing the needs of our congregation. Our goal is to listen carefully, to speak with the people of our parish, and to maintain confidentiality within this committee.

  2. Mutual growth means encouraging our leaders to participate in continuing education. We intend to assist our pastor in the planning of his/her continuing education so that the corporate ministry is strengthened.

  3. Mutual responsibility means assessing the role of both the pastor and the congregation. We intend to discern and nurture all the resources of people which God has placed in our midst.

  4. Mutual affirmation means celebrating the gifts God gives to our congregation to lead in ministry together. We intend to share such affirmations specifically and personally.

  5. Mutual vision means to imagine what God is calling our congregation to do. We will encourage our leaders and members to make a renewed commitment to Trinity’s mission.

Any member of the committee can be contacted in order to bring a comment or concern to the attention of the pastor. The committee members are Betty Bannon, Trudy Johnson, Rose Larson, and Robbie Powelson.
